There is no Tai Sui (太岁 tài suì) story in the dragon horoscope 2027. The Dragon’s branch 辰 (chén) forms no major aspect with 未 (wèi), the branch of the Fire Goat year, and it had none with 2026’s Horse branch either. Two open years in a row mean that for the Dragon the animal layer has little to say about the year as a whole, so the reading moves to elements and to the months.
Reading an open year by its elements
When the year branch leaves your animal alone, the next question is what the year is made of. 2027 is 丁未 (Dīng Wèi): Yin Fire 丁 over the Earth branch 未, whose hidden stems are 己 Jǐ, 丁 Dīng and 乙 Yǐ, so Earth leads, with Fire and Wood beneath it. 辰 is also an Earth branch. It is tempting to conclude that an Earth year suits an Earth animal, and that is exactly the leap we avoid. Dragon years begin around 4 February in 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012 and 2024. A January or early-February birthday may belong to the Rabbit, the previous animal, so check with what is my Chinese zodiac if you are near the line.
For 2027 the line is Li Chun (立春 lìchūn): 4 February 2027 at 09:45 Singapore time. Lunar New Year (春节 chūnjié) follows on Saturday 6 February. The chart follows Li Chun because the sun, not the moon, sets the Ba Zi calendar: Li Chun marks the sun reaching the start of spring. The lunar festival is when the year is celebrated, and Chinese New Year 2027 covers it.

Six months carry no classical aspect with 辰: 壬寅, 乙巳, 丙午, 丁未, 辛亥 and 癸丑. That includes the whole of the early summer, from May through to the start of August.
Spring: busy at home
March’s 癸卯 month forms the 卯辰 Six Harm (六害 liùhài), the relation of friction between people who ought to be cooperating. April’s 甲辰 month returns your own branch, which tends to amplify whatever the Dragon is already doing. Together they make spring the place to sort out working relationships before the quiet stretch.
The autumn run
The most interesting part of the Dragon’s year is three consecutive months. From 8 August, 戊申 joins 辰 in the Water frame (三合 sānhé, 申子辰). From 8 September, 己酉 forms the 辰酉 Six Combination (六合 liùhé), the binding relation. Then from 8 October, 庚戌 sits directly opposite 辰 in a Six Clash (六冲 liùchōng).

In practice: build in August, agree in September, and make sure anything agreed has room to move in October, because the clash tends to unsettle schedules and arrangements. Without a year-branch theme, the dragon horoscope 2027 works better as a set of questions brought to the months than as outcomes assigned to them.

- Relationships. Is there an agreement, personal or practical, that the September combination is a natural moment to make?
- Health habits. The quiet early summer is a good stretch to set routines that will carry you through a busier autumn.
The branch that matters more
