Ba Zi Ten Gods for Xin Metal Day Master (辛): The Complete Table

A chart built on Xīn (辛 Yin Metal) reads like fine metalwork rather than raw ore — jewellery, a scalpel, a coin. To interpret it you convert every stem into its Ten Gods (十神 shíshén) role, the relationship it holds to your Day Master. Yang Metal Gēng is Rob Wealth, and the contrast matters: it is the blunt, forceful cousin who muscles in where you would prefer to finesse. For Yin Metal these companion stars matter most when the chart is thin. A weak Xin pressed by Fire officers needs allies to survive; a strong Xin surrounded by Metal is already sharp enough, and more only scatters the wealth.

Output: Ren and Gui

Metal produces Water, so Water is what Xin gives out. Yin Water Guǐ is the Eating God — quiet, dew-like expression, the polished output that suits fine Metal beautifully. Yang Water Rén is the Hurting Officer, a broader, more forceful current; brilliant and persuasive, but it can wash the shine off if it runs unchecked. Metal controls Wood, so Wood stems are your Wealth (财 cái). Yang Wood Jiǎ is Direct Wealth — the solid trunk, dependable earned income, and classically the wife star for a man. Yin Wood Yǐ is Indirect Wealth — flexible, opportunistic money, the vine rather than the timber. A delicate blade like Xin cuts Yi easily but strains against a thick Jia trunk. In practice that means a Xin person can shape smaller, agile wealth naturally, while large ventures ask for more metal-strength and often more support behind you.

Power and Resource: Fire and Earth

Fire controls Metal, so Fire is your power. Yang Fire Bǐng is Direct Officer — proper authority, structure you can work inside, and for a woman classically the husband star. Yin Fire Dīng is Seven Killings, the hotter pressure; for fine Metal, Ding is the flame that can genuinely melt, so it needs managing rather than merely enduring. There is a well-known combination between Bǐng and Xīn that ties this officer closely to the Day Master, which is one reason the two are so often discussed together.

Earth produces Metal, so Earth stems are your Resource (印 yìn). Yang Earth Wù is Direct Resource — solid, orthodox backing and formal learning; Yin Earth Jǐ is Indirect Resource — softer, less conventional nourishment. A caution particular to Xin: too much Earth buries fine Metal instead of feeding it, dulling the very shine that defines the Day Master. Placement notes for a Xin chart

Position turns the labels into biography. The day branch, the spouse palace, is read through its hidden stems, and three Xin day pillars show the range.
