Most of that day, in other words, still belongs to the Rabbit: a 15:00 delivery keeps the 癸卯 pillar, while a 17:00 delivery opens the Dragon’s. It is one of those years where two children born on the same date, hours apart, will celebrate different zodiac animals for the rest of their lives.

Chinese New Year 2024 fell on 10 February — is a 6 February baby still a Rabbit?
No — a Dragon. This year the solar boundary came before the festival: Li Chun had already struck at 16:26 on 4 February, so a 6 February 2024 birth is a Wood Dragon even though the lunar celebrations had not yet begun.
Do minutes really change a chart that much?
